Frequently Asked Questions
- Q. How can I get started?
- A. The first step is to contact us through phone or by filling out the form under Contact Us. We will contact you and customize your adventure for you. All you will need to do is provide us with a list of participants, grouped into teams, and we take it from there.
- Q. What are the technical requirements to play?
- A. You need at least 8 employees and one manager to help serve as a judge. We form your group into 3 or more teams, and at least one person on each team must have email access.
- Q. Other team building companies cost thousands. Can Smart Team Building really be so affordable?
- A. Our team building programs are created by business owners and experts who know the importance of limiting waste. By utilizing the efficiency of the Internet, we are able to keep our overhead low and pass the savings on to you. You won’t pay for props or travel expenses like you might with other companies.
- Q. Is the FREE option really free?
- A.By including a mission to help a charity as part of your adventure, we are able to justify giving you the rest of the team building for free. You will never be billed or asked for money and there aren't any hidden traps. It's just a good win-win program, guaranteed.
- Q. What's the charity mission like that's included if we want to play for free?
- A.The charity mission we include is just like we say; only meant to take 10 minutes. Plus it's written into the plot of the game so it's actually a lot of fun. The idea is that teams suddenly need to demonstrate they are more caring and generous than the other teams to get the next clue. Each team has 10 minutes that day in which to spend trying to find pledges for Autism Services. It's an idea based off the television show "The Apprentice" with Donald Trump, where teams use creative strategies to help out charities. At the end of the day, the team that did the best wins that round. You'll find that at first the teams are just competitive, but by the end of the day when they realize what a difference they made for Autism Services, they will have built up a lot of goodwill with each other... which is also good team building.
- Q. Will my team be playing this adventure all day long and not getting any work done?
- A. No. The first set of instructions they receive clearly states that part of their lives as undercover agents is to never let the missions interfere with normal work or customers. They are to weave their tasks into their normal activities. Most of the missions only take minutes a day to complete, so this won't be a problem.
- Q. What is your overall approach to team building?
- A. We take a direct approach. Rather than lecture everyone about the principles of communication and team work, we know that if we can help employees to interact, have fun, and play together, they will be much more comfortable communicating with each other in the future -- i.e., if you can help two employees become better friends, then you’ve made them better team members. Plus you get to form the teams however you would like. Want the Accounting Dept. working better with the Sales Dept.? Just put them on the same teams!
